My workout partner is my teenage son ...in addition to motivating each other and creating an early morning routine, this also gives us quality bonding time (driving to the gym and back)... and we review each others progress

I agree with all your ideas to improve your workouts, pushing myself harder with each visit to the gym means I stay within my time frame but I never take the easy way out.

Whether its to move faster, add incline, add resistance, intervals or staying longer on one machine and shortening the next (I usually work between two exercise machines for cardio) - I'm focused on doing a bit more each time.

Plus, the time flies by when I go with a partner - talking and focused on other things than how many minutes I have left.

It's good to know I'm doing many of these things now so I know I'm on the right track. Tam

I agree. Having someone with you definitely removes any lonely and boring moments. Time doesn't need to be checked regularly because of the fact that your friend's compaionship is a great way of loosing track of time.

I find working out with a partner an effective way. The casual conversations are definitely time killer. You can keep on going with someone cheering you and taking your mind off the load. I like doing it with my friend. It's more fun than being alone.
