Thanks for your unique insights into blogging. I’ve been working on an ebook for Profitable Business Blogging (http://www.howblogersmakemoney.com) and will have this program out in the next day or two. I think your point about carnivals *might* be true, and I’d left it alone for several months. Currently I write for lifehack.org and pickthebrain.com. If I had more time I could pick up other contracts as I have received quite a few offers. But between being a full-time student and having other projects, my time is very limited as-is.

Over the last year I’ve made roughly a 3-5x increase in traffic while going from $40 per month to $1000.

I use AdSense earnings as a good predictor of traffic. They have gone from around $50/month to 180-220 per month. However, as my blog has continued to grow I’ve found new revenue streams. Selling my e-book has accounted for up to $300 in some months (it fluctuates wildly). Freelance writing (which would have been more difficult to get if I did not have an established presence) has also provided a steady chunk of earnings.

Nice Post and some great information. I am actually making a challenge to myself and seeing if other bloggers are up to the challenge. The goal $100/day in passive income ($3000/month). So for you that would be a 3x increase in 3 months rather then myself who is trying to do a 20x increase. Anyway, nice blog and I see your a Tim Ferriss Fan. I recently had the chance to meet him and am giving away an autographed copy of the 4 hour work week, check out the link for more details.
