Already have a few articles like that. Check out the archives and do a search for "What Do You Want to Do With Your Life" around last August.

I read somewhere that sometimes we even have to have patience with patience. I think I'm going to have to re-read this a couple of times.

Hey Scott,

Thanks for this entry! It really came to me at the right time because I'm going through a plateau after having a high sustained traffic for a week... And now I'm a bit down about that.. But not after reading this post!

Thanks again, mate! Keep up the excellent work!

Patience is a yardstick for the depth of determination. As you've mentioned, If I love what I do then I naturally develop a burning desire for my work and thus patience comes at ease. If I hate what I do then patience becomes pain and it forces me to quit.

Great point about plateaus, spurts, and improvement.
I see how viewing success as inevitable could decrease your patience by increasing doubt when failure comes along. But couldn't forgetting success also increase doubt, decreasing patience?

I think one of the biggest hurdles to patience is feeling like there's something you could be doing that you are not, which is why I really like #3 Set Your Plans. Maybe another key to patience is a strong belief in your ability to take the appropriate action and that would increase your ability to focus on your existing plan.
