I like your post, and I also like some of the comments that I read. I think there is a balance of 1) deliberately choosing to live on the edge of incompetence and 2) also building up your areas of strength and comfort. In other words, I am really good at and really enjoy some at some core competencies, but I can also choose to take on projects that will help me develop new skills.
