I’m going to be in Berlin for around a week during New Year’s. Barring snowstorm, cancelled flights or unexpected mishaps, I’m planning to have a readers meet-up sometime in the late-afternoon on the 28th.
I’ve done meet-ups in the past in Paris and Vancouver. Both went really well, we had several people, grabbed a bite to eat and had great discussions.
If you are going to be in Berlin on the 28th of December, shoot me an email at meetup@scotthyoung.com. Once I know how many people are coming, I’ll try to schedule a tentative time and place.
Best Posts of 2010
This past year has been a big one for the website. I launched both Learning on Steroids and the video course. The newsletter has had several editions and there are now over 3000 subscribers. I also added dozens of new articles to the archives, which now has nearly 900 articles.
If you’re new to the website, here are some of the best posts from the last year. See you in 2011!

Hi Scott,
Have you ever thought about using Amazon’s Kindle as a platform for some of your material? Maybe not the major ebooks, but collections of posts? Come up with a name for something that’s basically your top 40 posts – or your 40 favorites. Whatever. It’s very easy to do now and while you won’t make a lot of money, the exposure as an author published with material for the Kindle at Amazon could lead others to the site to find your other work. I’m thinking material you’ve already published for free but simply packaging it for the sake of simplicity and making it available on Amazon. Millions of Kindles are now out there and it’s the biggest selling Christmas gift of 2010. PDF support for the Kindle can be sketchy at best – but packaging something especially for Kindle readers, in their format (very easy), would make some of us very happy.
Continued good luck to you in 2011!

Have a great time in Berlin! Happy Holidays!
None of the links work
You forgot to put “/blog” in the blog links at the bottom.
You know Scott, I still see that pop-up all the time, even it says “it’ll only appear once.”
Jonah,
Yes–there are glitches with the popup.
It *should* only appear once, but it does so with a cookie that expires after 7 days, I’m going to try increasing that to 30 or so, but some browsers block long-lasting cookies. Also, if you have cookies disabled or regularly clear your history, that will reload the popup.
Thanks for your input though, I’m doing my best to fix things!

Hi Scott,
I really like your post on “Living on the edge of incompetency”. It emphasizes on the importance of mastery in any endeavor that we do which I feel is very crucial to success. Happy New Year to you too! Looking forward to more awesome posts from you.

Edmund Yeo
Have a great time in Berlin!
